Aimee girls

I almost feel as though I don’t even know what to say about Aimee – she was such a low-maintenance bride, I barely got to know her!  I think I met with Aimee about a year ago and then not again until a month or so before her wedding, just to make a few small tweaks to her details.  Her beau is a lucky fella to have landed such an easy-going, decisive woman!  Aimee had a dream-team of vendors including photography by Teresa Earnest with memories n’ more photography [as always, thank you for the beautiful images Teresa!]  and Cindy Brown with All About You Entertainment coordinated the event.  Thank you lovely ladies – and thank you Aimee!!! for letting us be a part of it all!

My husband likes to tease me every time I bring home flowers for our house.  He’ll ask “are those your favorite?”  The answer is “yes” every time.  I simply can’t commit to just one all-time favorite.  I love all flowers.   On another list of favorites….my list favorite weddings of 2013 is up into the double digits now.   They’re all too pretty – I can’t be pinned down to just one favorite.  To make a short story long….Rachel and PJs wedding this past June is DEFINITELY on the favorites list.

Rachel and PJ are a couple that traveled all the way from South Africa to get married in beautiful and lush Bluffton, South Carolina.  We were fortunate enough to be asked to do the flowers for both their wedding and their rehearsal dinner the night before.   If my manners didn’t get the best of me, I think their event is one that I would have crashed.  Every detail was carefully planned but so thoughtful and meaningful that it looked effortless.

I’ll blog their wedding weekend in two separate posts.  There are just too many great images to fit all into one.  Of course, being that I’m a florist, I’ll post pictures of the flowers.  But if you’d like to see the whole celebration, [bride and groom, dresses and shoes, food and cocktails] then definitely check out their photographer, Anne Almasy’s blog.  This was the first time we’d work with Anne.  She’s based out of the Atlanta area.  Her work is stunning.  Rachel, PJ and Anne were generous enough to provide us these images. View More: http://annealmasy.pass.us/rpj

Two hundred and fifty Sunflowers.   I think it would have been physically impossible to walk into that rehearsal without a smile on your face!

This was a wedding we did a few weeks ago [click above to link to full blog].  The bride had a bouquet of Juliet garden roses, cream roses, fresh English lavender [yummy!], peach ranunculus and hellebores.  Hellebores is one of my favorites!  It’s not around that often, so it’s always such a treat when we get to work with it!!!

Thank you to Leeann Ritch for the stunning images!!!

Okay, I know I’ve already declared my favorite wedding of the year, but if I’m allowed to have a tie, this would be it.

Jenna and Blake’s home style marsh-front wedding had all of the creative details that makes for a magazine quality wedding. They had their ceremony and reception at the bride’s parent’s home on Skidaway Island. Jenna’s dad had built a cross over-looking the marsh that was a nothing-less-than-perfect back drop for ceremony bliss. The bride and groom had an eclectic style that was timeless, I’m certain they can look back on their wedding 20 years from now and never wonder “what were we thinking??”

I have a couple of fantastic images that I’ve gotten from the photographer Branden Lata. And then peppered in are marginal images from my iPhone. I don’t think you’ll have trouble figuring out which is which…

I know it’s early in the year to be proclaiming this…but I think my favorite wedding 2013 will have to be Katie’s wedding out at Wormsloe.  Katie is a wedding photographer so she’s seen it all.  That is a double-edged sword.  Seeing it all could mean you you’ve seen so much cool stuff that you can’t decide what your favorites are [so you’re all over the place…think Pintrest…], or seeing it all could mean you know exactly what you like or don’t like and you know precisely how you want your wedding styled.  Katie was definitely the latter of the two.

Every detail was carefully planned, but not over-styled.  Her look and her colors paired up perfectly with her venues.  A rustic edge for Wormsloe [i.e. dried palm frond], a grande exit from the ceremony [a 1949 Bentley with a bumper garland…thank you William…], and family-style seating with collections of floral pieces in brass goblets for the Harper Fowlkes house reception.

Sheer wedding Utopia.

I don’t have the photographer images yet, so below are iPhone images.  They won’t do it justice…BentleyBumper
